Dan Young has been in the building industry since 1972, after having served in the US Navy as an aircraft structural mechanic during the Vietnam War. He has worked both as a custom home builder and superintendent and operations manager on large commercial projects such as building geriatric centers around the southeast, before coming to Okaloosa County in 1983. He then supervised the construction of local projects such as the Islander Beach Resort (completed start to finish in 6 months, 18 days), Jamaica Joe's Lounge and the Gulfside Condominium (the only 7-story condo on the beach with a swimming pool on the roof) on Okaloosa Island. He was also the superintendent on the Fort Walton Beach YMCA and Pirates Bay condominiums and ran work on Eglin AFB as the operations manager for the SABRE contractor. Dan enjoys working with people and guiding them through the design process of their new home or addition and is a fanatic when it comes to getting things done right. Dan can take your idea or your 8 1/2 x 11 floor plan from a plan book and turn it into your dream home, modifying it to meet your specific needs. He takes extreme pride in the flawless completion of each project and all of his customers have remained his friends. As Dan will tell you, his best references are his customers. |
