About the Builder

Dan Young

Dan Young has been in the building industry since 1972, after having served in the US Navy as an aircraft structural mechanic during the Vietnam War. He has worked both as a custom home builder and a superintendent and operations manager on large commercial projects such as shopping centers and geriatric facilities around the southeast, before coming to Okaloosa County in 1983.

Dan then supervised the construction of local projects such as the Islander Beach Resort (completed start to finish in 6 months, 18 days), Jamaica Joe's Lounge and the Gulfside Condominium (the only 7-story condo on Okaloosa Island with a swimming pool on the roof). He was also the superintendent on the Fort Walton Beach YMCA and Pirates Bay condominiums and ran work on Eglin Air Force Base as the operations manager for the SABRE contractor.

Charlie Satterfield-Young

Charlie Satterfield-Young has been in the construction industry since 1985. He has a strong background in shopping center renovations and tenant build out work, and has also successfully completed new shopping centers, restaurants, offices, apartment complexes, custom homes, and several K-Mart expansions. Charlie has also been the owner’s construction representative for a 490,000 square foot distribution center/corporate office, and an 800 acre golf course development in Panama City Beach. He was a commercial concrete contractor for several years and completed several condominiums, shopping centers, apartments, parking garages, and government projects.

Dennis Hamby

Dennis Hamby has been in the construction industry for over 25 years, and is a State Certified General Contractor. He has built a wide variety of commercial, government, institutional, condominium, and restaurant projects. Dennis also has extensive experience in commercial renovations and tenant build out work, and has developed and built several office projects as well.
